Just put this yarn up online with some more pics and videos. If it hadn't happened to me, I'd have called it a good story:-)

Great photo's, videos and story albeit with your troubles. My hat off to you for attempting this trip. A lesson for all there regarding carrying spare shocks.
Good to see you and Michelle can still smile about it :D

This will be a big first for me :)

Land Rover Australia have performed brilliantly in their assistance to you with respect to your car, location and expectations. :arms:

I hope this is a sign of better things to come to the LR Faithful, because in the past their customer service has been dismal !!!

Laurie I couldn't fault LR or their Roadside Assistance people (Allianz, really) - they bent over backwards for us all the way. The total cost must have been eye-watering. When are you going up there?

No time soon !
I last travelled through that country in 1985  Loved every minute of it, surprisingly not a lot of breakdowns to be seen, BUT plenty of roll-overs for the unsuspecting.

Glad you enjoyed it Bruce:-) Actually got a letter in the post today from Land Rover Customer Service, signed by one of the guys I'd had so many conversations with on the phone from Drysale and Broome, apologising for the inconvenience we were caused and thanking us for our loyalty to the brand. And that, after LRA paid for everything including our accommodation in Broome to boot, and flights back to Perth.
I felt guilty. I should have been thanking them, not the other way around.
