For five days now I have not been able to get any of the Seven or Nine channels.
Even ABC plays up.
GRRR.
I have tried numerous times to retune the tv but no go.
Might have something to do with dickheads turning on 4G mobile towers that interfere with freetoair.
GRRR.
Bugger the 4G crap.
I dont know if it will continue or what can be done about it.

Been thinkin about jumpin off the gap but climbing over the fence I would probably fall off and break me hip.

I would be very surprised if 4g affected your digital TV , spectrum management is very good. If you have an outside aerial I would be looking for a bad join, connector. In fact any connector including wall plate could be corroded.

I am not the only one around here that has been affected.
I dont know if its 4G or what is going on but I found this info below this morning when I was googlig and looking for answers.
I will just have to wait and see what develops.
I will get the POO's if it means it is going to cost us money to fix it.

Before analogue TV ended we used to get very poor reception on most channels and virtually none on digital. After a good walk around the house and looking on a map at the direction of the nearest transmitter I put up an entirely new antenna 8 metres away from the old one. The new one "looks" at the tower through a gap between the trees that surround our house. Reception on every digital channel has been perfect ever since.

Get yourself some professional antenna advice, you'll not regret it.

Funny you should say that, ours lost all channels until I did a re tune, there was talk about there was some change to the system and you had to re tune, different areas had different dates. My mums also is getting pixalated but on windy days. A mate has never had good reception since he bought a digital tv, his aerial was installed professionally and the best signal was determined.

Townsville had a change of frequency a few months ago.

I think the digital switch is crap. Every time something gets turned on 'crack', choppers fly over.... Picture broken, Electric fencer up the road... All channels corrupted on damp nights.. Really average IMO.

Didn't know you lived in the greater London area?
Have you tried a quad shielded fly lead from the wall to the telly?

we had issues with a lot of our channels untill we had our TV antenna on the roof changed for a quality digital antenna..

Made a massive difference to the point where we pick up all the channels in 3s so we get for example channel 7, channel 7 wollongong and 7 newcastle!!!

its actually quite annoying :D

I second the whole get your antennas and wires and everything checked...

Ol'bod, I noticed when I was living in Emerald that At this time of year the tv would pixillate so badly on some channels that I couldn't watch them.

Must be a weather/climate thing as Sitec and Dullbird appear to share similar problems

Try re-directing your antenna.
Get the TV showing signal strength and then shift the antenna to see if you can improve your numbers. If you dont know what Im talking about read the book of words for your TV or set top box;););););)
Worked for me,my antenna points in a different direction to everyonelses in the street. My ABC and SBS dont pixelize any more when its raining;););););)

I don't have any problems with the idiot box reception. I just don't watch it...simples. None of the crap they put on is worth watching anyway. Read a good book mate............oh, that's right you are a reader.Oh well, just a thought.:p

I just had an experience while travelling which is similar .From about Karratha up the coast I had poor or no reception through my ALDI antenna. this annoyed me but I felt solace that some others had the same problem.
In Kununurra I could get very little reliably even tuning to a small rebroadcaster 1km away. I blamed all teh LEDs in the caravan park , as when I turned on my LED outside light , I lost the picture.

Anyway this kept on happening until Maroochydore when I knew that the transmitter was only 24Km away so I bit the bullet and opened up my ALDI antenna ( and thus voided the warranty!)to find that the main signal wire into the amp had parted company. Went To Jaycar, bought a $20 soldering iron and 1 second fix.
At Kingscliff I was getting all channels clear with the transmitter 43? km away.

The point I am making somewhat wordily is IMHO the first place to look for reception problems is your antenna or in line amp. Turns out when I was getting a picture must have been via the antenna plug on the back of the TV.

Regards Philip A
BTW there is a magic Iphone app that tells you the correct direction to point your antenna. I recently was given a 4S which has ios7 and can use the app. Oh what joy.

One part of my job is to keep our TV going, 6 satellite dishes, 2 transmitters, and miles of coax cable. Early on I found connectors were the main problem, started buying 3M and Dow Corning stuff, no more el cheapie electrician tape, problem gone. Other bug bear is lightening strikes, but lots of in line surge filters help.

So KISS initially and start with the connectors. Esp if it was working earlier.

The ACMA are doing Restacks throughout Aus which will cause outages here's a link
http://www.acma.gov.au/Industry/Spectrum/Digital-Dividend-700MHz-and-25Gz-Auction/Restack

This could be what's causing it.

My missus bent my ear till I gave in and got a tv bloke out. I had got it as good as it could be, as I had kept saying. We get our signals from repeaters that are near opposite to each other. For reasons beyond mortals like me. One repeater has better channel two signals bur ordinary seven channels and the other has the opposite. A mere zephyr of wind and it`s all pixels. Digital is way to directional.

Found the problem.
The antenna was pointing slightly in the wrong direction.
It went bung about midnight the other night so I think one of the large birds from the nearby lake either landed on or hit it.
The whole thing needs replacing as it is old and a bit wonky but there was no wind the night it buggered up so I think it may have been a bird strike.
I will get quotes for a new system one day.

When they turned off analogueTV in our area we had to switch to satellite TV. We lost all ABC. Confirmed byJim's antenna’s and a friend who used to install antenna’s.

Digital is great, but you getall or nothing. Amplifying the signal does not help, if you are blocked by densetrees or if it is blowing a gale.

The government provides the satelliteservice for free in affected areas, but you are still up for $700 in equipment.Complained to the digital TV help line, ABC and local member.....

On a positive note, I likethe flexibility of getting the TV for all the different time zones and with aUSB hard drive you can record or pause live TV.
