Hi Guys,

I know there is a lot of information on this forum and have just spent some time using the search function but I am struggling to pull it all together in my head.

I have a 2011 130 running standard rims and standard xzl's. Standard suspension as well. My wife followed me home one day and said the 130 looked like a fat lady on heals from the back.

So wider and taller tyres are on the cards. I also like the look of 130's with flares

Can anyone tell me, or point me to something that describes how tyre size and rims (offsets) go together and the pros and cons of each setup?

Thanks

285/75 16 Mickey Thompson MTZ's on 16 x 8 Dynamic rims with zero offset. This seems to be a common size for the 130's....I have had this combo for 2 years now and glad I did.

Zero offset on the wheels means you don't have to change the factory flares on the front guards....Some have, but I haven't and never had any issues with mud etc being flicked...

Mine is a 110 not a 130, but I opted for 16x8 King wheels with zero offset. My tyres are 265/75R16, so not as big as the 285's.

I like the setup so far. NOTE: snorkel is currently different to the photo, but we are talking wheels and tyres :)

I'm about to fit up a set of terrafirma rims with 265/75/16 Mickey Ts onto my 2012 130. If if you want to keep the standard rims You can put 235/85/16 on them and they look a lot better. If like me you have a tub rather than a tray, you will need to put flares on it..agreed though the silly little tyres and white rims look bloody ridiculous!!

I put 255/85r16 tyres on black 16x7 terrafirmas. Looks much netter but not stupidly wide. Im not an adherent to the wider is better philosophy.
