Hi all,
Any one know of a reliable mechanic for my 4bd1 county?
I'm getting a lot more noise and lack of performance recently have tried a few things but I'm no mechanic and I think it's time for some professional help.

There are several independents that are good. Depends if you are Nth or Sth of the river. I have always found Steve at Lifestyle 4x4 in Morley to be quite knowledgeable and reasonably priced.

Been going to Lifestyle for years now with mine. Never had an issue.

Though I may need to switch to Rovertech as I'm a fair way south of the river these days but I'd rather stick with what I know

Thanks for that I'll look up life style 4x4. Although South would be better.

I use rover tech for the disco but they won't touch anything as old as mine.

Interesting to know Rovertech won't touch older ones, did they tell you that ?

Anyway good excuse to keep going to Steve I suppose =)

??? Rovertech did a heap of work on JamesJ's 4BD1 110 county...

For engine work though you may be better going to someone familiar with isuzu trucks. Just explain to them it is the same motor as the mid-late 80's NPR...

Sorry guys just back from bali.
Based in kelmscott. Last time the misus took the disco into rover tech they said they only deal with newer landys. I might call them and ask direct.
I'm not sure if there is any thing wrong mechanically but just for peace of mind I want my old girl checked out before I start upgrading and repairing her cosmetically.

Thank you for all the advice every one.

Whilst travelling across that side of the country have used Lifestyle for my Defender and found them very keen and enthusiastic.

No experience. They seem to be a diesel fuel injection place.
I am sure they will suggest you need to test your injectors - and no problems with that, but most of the cost is removing and refitting them which you can do yourself easily.
