A few electrical gremlins since my kaymar was installed - not sure what is happening.
There's been a few posts about an ignition sourced wire in the engine bay. I use fuse 17 with a mini-blade fuse double adapter to run my daytime running lights. This always worked well - this (empty) fuse seemed to only come on with ignition.
However, I went and installed some of those new whizz-bang Osram combined LED DRL and fog lights - they are quite impressive.
Previously, my DRLs were wired directly into the blank at Fuse 17. However, these new ones have a control box, so there is an input for ignition source to run the DRLs, an input for headlights to turn the DRLs off when the headlights are on, an input for foglights (fits straight into the OEM one) and it also has a cornering light/indicator input function.
Trouble is , I have come back to my car after a while and seen the DRLs coming on for a few seconds, going off for ten seconds, then coming on again. This has happened a couple of times.
I have tested the voltages again, and it seems that there may be micro-voltages coming through various fuses. These may not be enough to run the old DRLs, but might be enough to trigger the new DRLs.
Has anyone got any ideas about this? Does anyone know of a better ignition-source under the bonnet?
Any help would be appreicated
Cheers
