Hi all

I need to replace the vent seals on my Series 3 as the current ones do not seal very well (let's in water)

Are they the same as Defender?

Thanks

No the series seals are stuck onto the firewall while the Defender ones are stuck to the back side of the vent flap.

Although you could likely fit either.

Thank you Diana

Currently the seals are stuck to the back side of the flap like a Defender. No wonder they leak!

So are the genuine Series 3 seals stuck to the firewall with contact adhesive?

Thanks

Incisor

Which Defender style seals did you use? self adhesive or did you glue down with contact adhesive or sika flex?

i used the self adhesive ones..

if the glue lets go in a few years i will use sikaflex on them..

been thru a hellish down pour not long after i fitted them and it was the first time ever the things didn't leak :p

the rubber ones that go on the firewall are a bitch to seal...

Thanks Incisor....will order a set. I will remove the flaps this weekend and clean up the remnants of the old seals.

Cheers

when you fit them make sure you get the seal stuck right to the outer edge right around the flap..

the only ones i have seen leak were ones that people hadn't ensured they were snug around the outer edges (at the top esp) ...
