On our trip to Dubbo from Newcastle with our caravan, we averaged over 17
L/100 on the trip computer. It was a bit hilly and country road driving, but still thought 17 was a bit high. The next day I found a level spot to check the oil, which I always do after a long trip and found that the oil had dropped 2 notches on the gauge. Rang Dubbo Land Rover Thursday afternoon and they were fully booked. After I explained the problem I had and that I was traveling with our caravan the receptionist went to talk to the service manager, who said bring it in first thing in the morning we've got about 45 minutes that we can check it out. When they took the bash plate off, it was full of oil. They degreased it and found where the oil was coming from and took photos to show me. The front part on the first picture was not sitting right, it was hanging forward and you could see small notches in the fan where it had bee rubbing. when they took it off the O-ring inside was cut right through as you can see in picture 2. They sourced a new O-ring and had me back on the road by 12:30. Considering they were fully booked and it was Friday I was very very happy they looked after me and got me going again so quickly especially with Monday being the first chance they originally would have to look at it. I was so happy with they service from Brendan and his team, I went down the street and bought them a carton of beer.
