Hey guys,

have a MY09 D3 TDV6. It appears to be leaking Diesel, more so when the engine is on, and its dripping from the cross member midway under the car. Any known issues relating to this. Obviously it will be at mechanics tomorrow to check, but looking for any ideas.

cheers

Possibly the fuel filter!

Yes, had a more extensive look after initial panic. I now realise the long thing on that side is the tank, and eyespied the filter at the front. So have removed the plates, and heat shield and this is the situation.

Does anything appear amiss here? I have tightened the filter a small amount by hand, but can't see anything else screaming I'm broken at me.

The senser on the bottom of the filter screws onto the base of the filter and has an O-ring to seat against the filter base, my guess is the O-ring has perished, I had someone in Darwin with the same issue and had a couple of spares , he replaced it and all good.

I had a leak when the filter itself hadn't been fitted properly, but I think you would be able to see where the diesel has flowed over the filter before dripping off the bottom.

Oh ... just realised how old this thread was ... probably fixed by now .... LOL!!!

Yes it has, and I should have updated as I look for this in other threads, but I was lazy. It was the O-ring on the bottom of the filter. Thanks for the commentary fellas, spot on again.

cheers
