So lately I have been getting a few suspension faults and warnings that always clear when vehicle is turned off and on again. Wife went up to Townsville and also had a low coolant fault at Charters Towers, a nice trucker had a look and figured there was air in system and opened cap an fault cleared on restart, overestimate to look out for my wife on way to the Ville, nice fellow. Anyways swmbo tooled it into our preferred dealer that we use anyways to have the suspension and as thought compressor is on the way out. So looks like we will be gettin a new compressor ( AMK) upgrade. Townsville LR have always been so helpful and always can squeeze us in on short notice, also hats off to the LR department in Rockhampton for on the phone help with coolant fault ( never knew there was one there).

Hope the new compressor works a treat!

Hopefully the new compressor sorts it all out. How much is a new compressor and are they an easy fit or does it have to be a dealer job?

I'm assuming you have the 2010/11 D4, from what I've been told our model had a stop gap compressor(something to do with the Tsunami) it is replaced under warranty by LR, even we got no arguments:eek:

Take it to a dealer, should be replaced under warranty, as it is a known failure on this model D4.

Crawal, just be aware, that if you buy that one (and you are changing from a Hitachi) you will need a new compressor cover, as the old one won't fit, the set of pipes to fit and a new relay.

Factor these in then compare the price.

I understand that the AMK compressor needs to have some modifications made to fit it to a D3.

If that's true could you please do a right up when you make the changes?

Mine is a 12' so it's all covered by warranty, and they said it'll be replaced no questions asked. I did forget to remove my GOE rods before it went in but nothing was said but in sure they know they are there. I've had nothing but top service from LR in Townsville

How do you tell if you have one of these dodgy compressors? Mine is a 2011 model and about to run out of warranty. Will LR replace them if they haven't failed?

Sorry don't know how to tell, but I'm sure someone here will know, there is a thread on this subject here somewhere, as for LR replacing it before it fails, I would say no, but no harm in asking.

Topix should show the outstanding maintenance to replace the compressor. My 2010 still does even though the compressor has already been changed presumably because it was changed before the campaign was initiated.
