Hi all,

I am going to apologise up front for not looking through a massive list of posts about this.

I take delivery of an Ultimate Camper in September. They are fitted with electric brakes, but that's it.

There are a number of good quality controllers available, take your pick.

I have a fully set up Kaymar rear bar and the LED indication system does flash each time the door closes on the D4 trailer connected or not.

A reputable controller is a must, is it time now to also fit a Pulse Busta?

Previous TVAN had brake controller fitted running of TVAN batteries and no issue with LED's flashing when door closes and D4 picked up that a trailer was connected.

The simple question is?

Is a Pulse Busta or equivalent mandatory at this juncture?

Debating between P3 or Redarc pros cons about equal?

Regards

Gerald

With a D4 I don't think you need a pulse buster. Just a resistor of the right size in parallel with at least one of the led indicators on the trailer if it has LEDs, so it draws equivalent current to an incandescent bulb.
I have a P3, is proportional and works well, new Redarc is also proportional and require much less real estate to mount.

Gerald,
New Red Arc "Tow Pro" is the bee's knee's now. Is Proportional & Very easy to fit.
Tow-Pro™ Electric Trailer Brake Controller - REDARC (http://www.redarc.com.au/products/product/tow-pro/)

LED adaptor Module is the way to go also. Can be either mounted to A frame or mounted inside vehicle (mine is inside vehicle as i tow an array of trailers, so i can use when i want & not have to swap from trailer to trailer.

Can vouch for both.
