My trailer brake plug has broken, I was thinking of replacing it with a mini-Anderson plug. Anyone here who can point me in the right direction for supply and fit please?

Auto sparky on Hele Cresent, although I don't know if they'll be open now? The drag racing is on this weekend so with any luck they might still be there doing some last minutes jobs on those cars?
Supercheap or Repco (on the highway, near each other) may be able to supply the plug if you fancy having a go yourself? :)

Thanks fellows, picked up a different brand Anderson type plug from TJM who were most helpful, after hours. Bunnings couldn't help with plumbing stuff so we'll persevere with dodgy plumbing till PA

Call yourself a truckie! Couldn't you find a cockie's fence to cut or windmill to dismantle for wire and parts?

Home Timber & Hardware on Smith Street/Stokes Street may be able to help you with plumbing stuff although I'm not sure of their opening hours on weekends?
I forgot all about TJM to be honest, but then the store is only new(ish) :D glad they could help you though :BigThumb:

No I couldn't Brian, some thieving bastard truckie got there first. ;)
I mentioned your name in Winton the other day, that got me run out of town. :p

Got the brakes sorted (hope I got the polarity right :D) I think, the plumbing can wait as it's only the drainage bits.
I could do with a drink though, how about you? :twobeers:

Gawd I'm buggered, I must have walked further today than I drove in the last week. :o
What a great day though, the complete day I've played the tourist. Started off traipsing round the Todd Mall Markets, thank goodness they're small; then the Transport Hall of Fame before going next door to the Ghan museum followed by a 100 km hike round The Desert Park. Finally the highlight of the day, a private tour of the RFDS (my charity of choice) facility. Thanks heaps Strangy, it was the only thing we did today that didn't require compromise from either of us; all the way back to the caravan we discussed how interesting your tour was.
BTW the milk's cleaned up. ;)

If the polarity is backwards the brakes will only work in reverse.:wasntme:

We dawdled out to the Rock today, forgetting to fuel in Alice before we left. I realised at the airport turn off but with nearly half a tank decided to keep going and wear the hit in the pocket. Got to Stuart Roadhouse a bit under quarter of a tank to find that they ran out of fuel over the week-end and weren't expecting the truck til this afternoon or tomorrow. I tipped a 20 litre gerry in and continued on to Erldunda Roadhouse and got stung 220 cpl. Mt. Ebeneza, 50 kays closer to the Rock was only 210 cpl so I'll fill there on the way out.
Thanks again Strangy, we discussed how interesting your tour was again today and realised that we were so engrossed, we hadn't taken any pictures. Please put me out of my misery and tell me photos are forbidden.

G'day fellows, pulled up in Pt. Pirie for the night. Tomorrow Adelaide for a one hour (max) visit to B&SiL for coffee then head east. I have to phone and hopefully catch-up with a forumite, on the way to Lake Maquarrie.
Jerry, your request is unusually difficult to procure, so far I seem to have the only one in existence. I'll keep looking.

Well, the travelling duo have just left here after we all had a meal together and a chat for a couple of hours.:)
We invited them to stay overnight, but they graciously declined as they wanted to get another 300k's closer to Brissy. Both have to work on Monday.:(
Great catching up with you Ian and next time we have to allow more time as every time we have met, we (either Ian or me) have been on a tight schedule!!!:)

Thanks for the kind words Jim, it's always a pleasure to catch-up with you, even briefly. Thank-you to Mrs Aus for a lovely, unexpected dinner, it was a good to finally meet her after all the deserving praise you have heaped on her.
We made the cartwheel at the Port Mac turn-off and will head off about oh five hundred hours.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Strangy, Digger and family and Mr and Mrs Ausfree for their contributions to the enjoyment of out holiday; also a big thanks to those forumites who offered help and advise in Alice. The second hand Anderson type plug saved the day, restoring the trailer brakes. Unfortunately the trailer brakes gave up totally at Carlingford, the trip up a wet Pacific took some careful planning. :o I'll check it out over the weekend, to see if the controller's fried or the magnets have rattled out.
Here are some pictures from my phone, I still have to download pictures from two cameras and 'er indoors' phone.
