It is touching to see the support for young Alex Mcinnon, what a brave bloke. It is still a long road ahead for him,but from what i have seen this bloke has the strength to overcome this.

But it also highlights the need for the NRL to have support in place for injuries.

I had to Google his name. I'd never heard of him.

If football is likely to cause these sorts of injuries, and if people are being paid to play, Workcover have work to do. Any other industry would have had to change the way they operate, introduce PPE and maintain higher standards, or be shut down.
Either that, or those paid to take these risks should expect to be injured and not expect to be given a spotlight to support their plight when these injuries do happen.

I agree with Mark in that the sport and/or club should provide all the support he needs without needing public fund-raising.

At no stage has Alex asked for the spotlight or any of this attention. He has shown amazing courage and strength.

Same here. Having done so and learnt about what happened you have to feel for the guy.

Yes. Losing what one loves because of an event that would normally be par for the job would be awful. The problem is that it's a life long sentence. I had a friend who was made a para after crashing his bike at Amaroo race track. But he had no support like the NRL and a footy club.

What erks me about this, the blokes responsable basically got a smack on the wrist, it was clearly deliberately done AND it still accures, what is the matter with these NRL players, are they that thick as to think they are not doing something wrong, yet they continue to do these stupid and dangerous tackles.

Baz.
