Hello there all... I am wondering if anyone has a 4.0 v8 fitted into a 90 series defender and if so if they have extractors fitted? and where did you purchase them from?

Also I am looking to make some improvements to my cooling system... it doesnt seem to like the Pilbara summers of 46 degrees! So if you have any ideas or people to chat with it would be great

People seem to get scared when I tell them the model so am not having a lot of success just yet - and given that I am in the Pilbara!

I have a 1998 50th Annivesary 4.0 V8 90 series defender (156/368) that I am looking to make some small changes to...

Would appreciate any help!

I wil start by saying I have no first hand experience with your vehicle but this is what I would do.
You may want to have look at some of the UK sites - may be easier to source extractors from there for a Landy V8 or find out what works and what doesn't. The other option is to go around to an exhaust place and they may have a set of "loan" extractors that you could trial fit to see what will fit and what will not. You have a few options like short block huggers or long extractors. All depends on how much room you have.

I actually thought the stock manifold on the 4.0 was supposed to be quite good and free flowing. My personal experience with extractors is the the performance gains were minimal, but the engine bay heat output was very unwelcome.

County v8 extractors may fit ok.
