I've just done my first oil change on recently acquired county/Isuzu -I replaced filter as well and manual says 8.5 litres capacity. I've only put 8 litres in so far and when I pull out dipstick it's well above the top dot- there's 2 dots on dipstick but no mark above the top one so I'm a little confused how you're supposed to know the correct level. I was going to add the extra half litre but don't want to overfill it?

Did you run the engine before you checked the oil level? Filling the filter will make the level in the sump drop.

yes i ran the engine for a while and checked dipstick- i assumed the 2 holes on dipstick are the level indicators but I'm above top one and yet to put in 8.5 litres-is there meant to be another mark on dipstick above the top hole?

8.5 will be for the winged sump as for civvy 110's. The normal sumps (perentie/isuzu truck) are about 7.5 litres.

Was there a reason for the extra litre with the civy 110's? Why wing it?

It is a civvy 110 so should be 8.5 lites-unless been swapped for winged sump-btw what's the winged sump?
