Hi guys have read a few threads on EGR blanking. I have done this to my05, my question is do I need to remove the butterfly in the throttle body as described in a earlier post and what is the advantage and disadvantages if not removed. I am presently driving around with it in havent noticed any real difference.

The opinion in the uk is that it should be removed for the TD6 2.7 , once you have blanked the egr and when the ecu energises the egr , the butterfly will close to a degree which will restrict air flow the engine , as the only air supply is now through the butterfly and not supplemented by the egr .
You would probably notice a difference if you removed it, as your turbo should spool up quicker with an unrestricted airflow to the engine .

Thanks for that I thought that might be the situation. Will remove it on the weekend and see how it travels. I am going away with the van in a few weeks that should be a good test. This
