Hi all

I noticed recently that my 130 (1998 300 Tdi) had developed an annoying noise from the RH rear brake caliper. Upon closer inspection I have lost the retaining clips. The photo attached shows the pre bend wire (2 of) that sit under the springs and wraps around the tag on the pad. (the example is my RH front caliper)

I rang to get another set and was told that there is no part number for these and that they are off a County, should not be on my truck and are not needed.

They have always been on my truck and without them I am getting an annoying pad rattle.

The brake pads are installed correctly with the anti rattle plates are sitting correctly against the back of the pad.

Anyone got 2 spare sets?

Thanks

I don't use pads with clips like that,I'd buy genuine pads and genuine anti-rattle springs and replace both,I've never had much luck with non genuine brake pads on original disc's,they are cheap to buy and remove the problem. Pat

As Pat said, not standard.
OE just used the spring between the pads and that should be enough to stop any rattle.

Pad retaining kits are available with new springs, pins and split pins, just ordered some a few weeks back.

My 2012 130 has the retainers like the photo..standard issue, not aftermarket.
There should be a LR part number for them

They are genuine pads...I only just replaced them in April on the rear and I have done a lot of dirt road driving in the last few months.

They are not an aftermarket accessory, I have only tried one parts place, so will try another.

I should have said, not standard on a '98 Tdi !

Ring Karcraft, Tony should be able to help.
