looks like the ducks guts to me.
track may be too wide for our conditions.
when I was working remote areas in the NT, we had F150 fwd's ,at first everyone wanted to drive them but soon found them to be too cumberson for the bush work
but that was 1976 and they have probably improved heaps.
I note that everything shown for the 2014 was actually 2012 models, wonder what is really current.
probably just what I need for most of my trips.

A few months back I saw one in Shepparton - still left hand drive with "product evaluation vehicle" printed on the back of it.
They were designed to be a "chase" or "pre-runner" vehicle for the Baja 1000.
They would be a great touring vehicle for blasting through the deserts.
A guy from my 4wd club has a F350 he brings out every now and then. It is capable but is a bit too wide and a bit too long sometimes, but as he says "it is not for a lack of horespower" that he can not make it through.

Everyone has seen that Pat. It was posted on the hour every hour by different people for weeks.
And for me, it is hideous, and typically American. Big, brash, no finesse and all about "brute force" engineering.

I do not the new ones, when I was with John Deere in the end of the 70's I used to drive the 100 series with Perkins 4 cyl and the F250 with the 6 cyl version and they were superb in the rice farms muddy tracks.

I love the comfort levels of these things, just a shame they are too big for the tracks in Australia and not great 4x4s. They are so expensive as Ford will not bring them into Australia themselves as we are regarded as a too small market. The guys that import them have to make their money as well, but yes they are way over priced.
There was talk of Ford bringing back the F truck to Australia but have not seen too much about this lately so is unlikely to happen. If they do watch the over inflated price of F trucks on the second hand market drop.

We owned an '85 Ford Bronco, several years ago,...351V8, C6, 9",etc.....it was a nice thing, a good vehicle to travel in,...except for the cost of petrol,...it had a 121 litre fuel tank, & needed it!

This is my old girl I had up until I started buying Disco's. Imported Ranger.
Only 2WD and had a 6.5 Chev V8 diesel in it. C6 auto and Ford 13 inch LSD. Was still pretty capable of going anywhere I wanted to go in it - and would pull a house without problems. It's still getting around Kalgoorlie at the moment - a young bloke drives it - though the canopy is now off it and it has a large gas tank in behind the cab - assume he's running diesel / gas.
I still like these older models - they had a bit of character. Not a fan of the new ones at all.

She is a beauty BMkal
Have you used chains on the real wheels when on the mud or you never have the occasion to test it.
We used the chains on them when on muddy clay and never let us down.

Never had it on mud Arthur. Not often you see mud around Kalgoorlie. Spent a fair bit of time up in Karijini National Park with it on camping trips though. Was very good on steep rocky hillclimbs - and great for pulling Toyotas out of sandy creekbeds. :D

Why so much
RRP US$ 45000 = ~ $48000 + GST = $ 528000
Add LH to RH conversion ~ $35000 Already up to $87800. Then add in import duty + freight + other government charges . So not much change from $100,000. Then they have to make profit :wasntme:
Would be cheaper if Ford / Chev / Dodge made them in RH drive. But then they wouldn't wont to under cut local product. Ranger etc.
