Time for a new grader:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:
My old grader,the Volvo G930 is getting pensioned off,coming up to 8000hours.
My CAT 12M becomes the maintence grader,its just done 2600hours.I get a new one.Wanting another CAT,the new ones have more grunt and a few other improvements.
Loverley machine to operate.

No,mine still looks like brand new.The Westrac mechanics always commend me on the way I keep it when they sevice it,tell me its one of the cleanest they see:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:.
We keep the new grader for construction work,Im the construction grader steerer.The replaced grader then goes to maintence grading.The maintence grader gets traded.

So if the engines are working at the same revs as a truck engine doing about 100km/h, the Volvo would have done about 800,000 km and the CAT a mere 260,000 km.

So does the new one have a reversing camera or similar, to make sure that (just picking something at random here) no fences leap out behind you? :angel: :D

Are the John Deere graders imported to Australia?
They were very popular OS.

You could probably get a good deal on a Chinese made grader Andrew.

Yes Chuckie.
I learnt to steer a grader on a Deere 670CH,nice machine.
Dont like the toggle controls in the latest Deere,they are also the most expensive to buy.

The Volvo grader has heaps of grunt and great on fuel,its been a troublesome machine.2 engines under warranty,diff/axle failure(warranty)no throwought for the mulboard if you hit something solid,bent mulboard,replacement supplied at cost,expensive breakdowns(wiring harness,tailshaft,injectors) gearbox constantly needs tuning,can only be done by volvo via laptop.

A guy near us bought a Chinese Loading Shovel recently.. Think its even the same make as this grader.. Aesthetically it looks good, until you get close.. The cabin interior is very brittle plastic, and some of the welds are best described as 'average'..... So say it has a Perkins engine and Clarke trans.. The axles were a ZF copy, so I'm guessing the engine and box are too. Sounded ok tho... I still wouldn't own one.
