I'm trying to repair/replace the seats in a 1960 LWB.
I think I've worked out how to make the bases but the seat backs are now a bit of an unknown.
The seat back is steel but a piece of plywood is fixed (by bent over nails !) so that the vinyl can be stapled into position. I have my doubts whether this is correct.
The steel back is different to a Series III which has a lip you tuck the vinyl under. There seems no way of attachment hence the piece of plywood.
Top corner of seatback.

The other option is that the seat back cover is a slip over, a bit like a Series I.
Exmoor show the steel back with a lip for both Series II & III http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/store/series-2-3/front-seats2013-07-01-12-43-02/standard-front-seats-vinyl-detail.html
Does anyone have an unmolested early Series II seatback they can post pictures of ?
