As i was browsing the internet the other day, i stumbled across this

Kelty TraiLogic Collection - Intuitive Lightweight Backpacking Gear (http://www.kelty.com/co-trailogic.aspx)

its an extremely useful setup, definitely makes packing easier, but is US$879.80 (+postage) (assuming the most expensive option) worth it for a setup like this? i cant justify it, and i assume the cost will drop as the product becomes more popular.

cheers,
lachlan

Lachlan it's hard to tell from a webpage. I'm in the market for a pack and tent at the moment too. I think I landed in the One Planet Mungo 60 ltr for multi day hikes, Mont Sentinel 45 ltr for solo overnight and the tarptent double rainbow. If you get the package for sub USD900 and it meets your needs you will be doing well.

After trying a dozen packs loaded with the weight and equipment I will carry there is no substitute for testing a pack before the ill experience 15 km into a hike that the harness is uncomfortable.

Google "big 4" on Bushwalking Australia web page for forum comments on people's tent, bag, pack and mat selections. Interesting reading.

Cut and paste into your browser then delete the additional text in the link so you go to the main page. It's easy to find on the main page.
