Hi all.
It must be clutch month as I have noticed a few clutch bleeding issues of late.
I have been losing a little clutch fluid and as I couldn't see any dripping onto my foot I assumed it would be the slave cylinder. No problems, ordered one from the UK and planned to do the job this weekend. As I was driving over the last week or so I started to get the feeling that the clutch wasn't quite right but as I had the slave on order I thought nothing of it. As I was driving up the driveway this afternoon I put my foot on the clutch and nothing. Just a large dripping of clutch fluid on my foot. luckily I have a couple of spare master cylinders on the shelves in the garage.
Anyway, I stripped out the clutch pedal box and stripped it and fitted a new PBR master cylinder. Re greased the pivots and reassembled. Removed the slave cylinder, luckily it was leaking so I'm happy that I replaced both together.
Bleeding the system went well. I put a long rubber hose on the bleed nipple and run it up to the master cylinder height. Then with the help of an assistant (my wife) pump the fluid though until it's pumped onto a clear bottle. Then close of the nipple and bleed a few pumps to expel the last of the air. Final job is to check and adjust the pedal height and free play.
All up 2.5 hours work. :D

Cheers
Nino.
