One AC lecture theatre to another, mornos in an AC smoko room.
Maybe 10 minutes around vehicles. Geez, tough life :wasntme:

Anyway, you live in the 'Swich. Isn't that the typical winters day? Frost overnight and 32 in the day with a chance of meteorological terror?!? ;)

Dave

You can drop the jumper and jeans straight away and slip on the pluggers.

Beautiful weather up here at the moment.

If there is anywhere in Australia to spend a winter, Darwin would be one of them.

Regards
Andrew

We got into Darwin today.

first thoughts...
It's bloody expensive! and everyone drives like crazy.
I thought the place would have more of a relaxed feel.

Not sure how much longer I can afford $45 bucks a night at the caravan park. It's a bummer as I have to get some repairs done :(

I thinks there is a AULRO member up here on Holidays. He is a Mech and doing LR work for people (I think). Possibly ask 4runnernomore. I think the member did an engine swap is his Disco for him.

Happy Days.

Haha cheers. I only need new suspension bushes.
Easy job but you need a press.

I won't bother the poor bloke on his holidays.

$45 for a sit is too much?
Just wait until you get to Yulara...

You mustn't have come across the Gibb. Try $400 for 2 nights for 2 families of 4 at Mornington and no hot showers on the first day as it was too cloudy for the solar hot water.

Happy Days.

It's bloody expensive!( LOL too right it is. I think there has to be a lot of cash deals going on up here for people to survive.
and everyone drives like crazy were you following the tour bus yesterday. Tourists flee 'drunk, aggressive' tour guide in Darwin; tour company owner apologises - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-07-28/tourists-flee-drunk-aggressive-tour-guide-in-darwin-nt-police/5627936) I think this is classic Darwin. In the first month we moved here there was two fatal stabbings in the city(Mitchell St).

I thought the place would have more of a relaxed feel.

Comes with time. To get there quicker head to the Trailer Boat Club or Sailing Boat Club for sunset. One thing which I think is pretty cool is the pop-up pizza joint in Rapid Creek, end of Chapman St (walking distance for me). Take a few beers and sit in the park during sunset. Pretty popular, although it does touch on your very first impression a tad. Take some other snacks, red wine and blue vein (alcohol is also expensive in the NT).

Regards
Andrew

been there too, the Kimberly's would have to one of my favourite places is Aus. At least Mornington is nice and the $ goes to AWC, this caravan park is a bit crumby...
