Hi Guys,
Need help and advice, three the clutch from a compressor on track from Tobermorey Stn. So replacing leaking Ac compressor today in Mt Isa, but as clutch departed it took a fan blade with it.

No parts in Mt Isa, is it ok to drive through gulf with missing blade?

Secondly can anyone recommend a good honest matcha if in darwin to service my defender and replace fan?

2003 td5 defender.

Cheers
Stuart.

How many blades has the fan normally got?
If there are still a reasonable number of blades, would suggest removing the opposing blade also to even up the balance. Keep an eye on engine temperature though with the compromised cooling system.

From another post by Tomo at Jabiru...

...European Vehicle Servicing, 1/6 Downes Rd Winellie, 08 8984 3590, 0439 771 655, Neil Simmonds is the man. europeanvehicleservicing@hotmail.com

In my area at Humpty Doo, All Rural Mechanical 08 8988 9746.

Not sure, but I think the LRover dealership is handled by the Barramundi Group 08 8946 4748.

Pay to ring the above three ahead of time. Don't know how generic your vehicle fan will be when trying to get one in Darwin through Repco etc. Try LR Automotive in Bris to fly you one up and get mechanics to fit when you arrive?

I have the 36mm spanner required to get the fan of a TD5 if that helps.

Happy Days.

You could remove the fan for now and hard wire the AC thermo fan to run with ignition the ON, until youo get another fan.
