G'day all,
Im very close to sealing a deal on a 95 110 300 tdi defender in Newcastle. The seller seems like a genuine bloke and has not given me any reason to doubt his beliefs of the vehicle.
The only problem I have is im on the gold coast and can't just go and look at it. Is there anyone that you can recommend in the area to inspect it before I fly down early next week and drive it back to the gold Coast.
Ive owned a couple td5 discos and cant wait for a defender. Im very excited.
Thank you all.
Michael.

If your still looking, I may also be able to take a look see, depending on exactly where it is

I'll have a look for ya, and if it's a beauty, I'll tell ya it looks like **** and buy it myself - mwahahaa (evil laugh) !!!!!!!
Nah, I wouldn't do that :)

Hi guys,
Thanks so much for the offers. The cars at Raymond Terrace. A good mate of mine is leaving Sydney to come to the Goldy early tomorrow. Such a coincidence. It must be meant to be. He is checking it out and if all good driving it back for me tomorrow morning.
It will be my first defender. Cant wait!
Cheers.
Michael.

Don't forget to invite Banjo (Jason and Karen) and Ausfree (Jim) in Cardiff and nearby respectively - they're a mountain of knowledge and good guys as well. Sorry I won't be able to make it - too far away :(

Thanks again everyone.
So the defender is now home with me. The body and paint is in great condition. There is hardly any rust and the interior is in great condition too.
However there is oil dripping (nearly running) from the vac pump and the booster is cracked. The injector pump leaks diesel and theres hell of a whine at any gps speed over 90. Theres also the common backlash in the drive train and the squealing drive belt.
Over all im happy and now busy fixing all the issues.
Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a new brake booster on the Gold Coast?
Cheers.

Sounds a lot like mine when I first bought it.:D
I ordered my vac pump and booster online from kotara 4x4. Was delivered to Adelaide in two days.
