What really cheeses me off is a seller that puts a vehicle up for sale and then puts a buy it now price, and in the add body they use the phrase,

"BUY IT NOW PRICE IS FOR 1 WHEELNUT"

Who in there right mind would buy a wheelnut for 200 bucks.

Report them.. he's out to make a quick buck and some poor unsuspecting sod will miss that line and buy a very expensive wheelnut.

It is also used as a way of selling and dodging ebay fees and charges. They are saying contact me and make a deal off line. As an example have seen plenty of these where they are wrecking a vehicle.

As a buyer I get really ****ed off when I buy something, pay for it and the seller won't leave feedback until after I leave feedback for them. I have bought and paid for something, feedback left for me should be based on that, not the feedback I leave for the seller.

It is so they are not legally advertising a vehicle ( when they make a habit of selling many vehicles a year , they are amateur dealers ) because if you sell 4 vehicles per year in NSW you have to have a dealers licence or you can face a fine . Vehicles include registered and unregistered cars motorcycles trucks boats trailers and tractors .
Put up a photo of a headlight , cleverly show a good part of the rest of the vehicle and the rest is up to you.

It's already like that. I can't remember the last time I got a bargain off eBay.

I very rarely buy from it anymore so much do because of the big guys on there that are actually putting prices above RRP

I'm sure one bloke on there buys at RRP and then ads 5/10bux to the price
You really got to be careful what your buying.

I got an awesome buy the other day on all places but Facebook!!

The guy is a member here we found out from chatting.

I totally agree , you are the perfect buyer and feedback should reflect this , but those buyers aren't confident in the crap they are selling that they will get positive feedback from us , so they wait and see what we have to say.
I get emails from ebay telling me to leave feedback and I have written back telling them that I will after I have received and in one case I got feedback within 24 hrs after this communication with ebay .
Would be good if there was a follow up feedback provision for longer term product testing so we could gage how the stuff fairs after a test .

I completly agree with you. I recently bought an item off e-bay and this is the message I got after I paid for the item . "Once your item arrives in a satisfactory condition, please leave us positive feedback and we will automatically do the same for you." Borders on blackmail. .W.

I report every single one I find under the circumventing ebay fees category , trouble is there is no provision to leave comments for ebay to get more of an understanding there also seems to be a lot more Landrover adds popping up of late too.

I used to sell golf stuff on ebay. They changed their policy and now you pay three fees.

One for listing
Two for the end price
Three if you use paypal, which ebay owns, you get charged a fee.

Ebay used to be a great place to buy and sell but not anymore, they have just got too greedy and as somebody said, soon it will be only the big boys who use this service and the everyday person cannot afford to keep loosing money due to the fees.

Are you sure they're not wrecking the vehicle?

Almost universally, this is the reason for stating the auction is for only a piece of the vehicle.

If the seller is clearly trying to dupe unsuspecting buyers (if your stupid enough not to read carefully) then this is against ebay TOS and can be reported & removed.

On the topic of feedback;

Seller's cannot leave negative or neutral feedback for a buyer. Their only option is POSITIVE. Any and all positive feedback that is worded negatively can be reported to ebay and removed.

A big problem for sellers is the vast majority of buyers are too lazy to leave feedback, so a seller can sell a thousand items for 200 feedback.

So the function of "leave it for me then we'll do the same" is simply to get the feedback out of the customer and has diddly squat to do with ensuring that the buyer leaves positive accurate feedback.

If a buyer leaves less than 4/5 DSR rating then this really hurts the seller. Seeing more than 5 low DSR ratings in a year can cause your account to be limited or even cancelled - and sellers are at the mercy of, sometimes, vindictive buyers.

eBay has Sellers over a barrel and on top of that sellers are at the utter mercy of buyers. The things buyers can and regularly do get away with is criminal and one only needs to look at the paypal / ebay claim process to see. A buyer can claim anything under the sun and it is taken seriously while the seller will need written evidence in every form and sometimes this is even not enough.
