Nice to put a new SDV6 D4 through its paces at my cotton today - hill climbs & descents all done in normal TR setting! ( with ease) :)

I took a Sport, not bad but a bit small compared to the D4.Definitely wouldn't suit our needs. The adjustable hill descent with dash speed indication is a good improvement.Interesting air intakes through each side of top of bonnet. No chance of a snorkel.TR with auto setting also interesting.

Then took a D4 SDV6,mainly to see how it compared with mine.Very similar, particularly as only was able to do slow off road stuff.
Couldn't take either on road for a run which is where the difference to mine would show with the extra power/torque.

The guys with us new their stuff which was good.

No TDV8 or supercharged V8 which was a bummer.

Paul, how does that differ from the way HDC works currently?

Ahh I should have gone back for another run ....but I didn't realise you could take more than 1 out... :(
I was impressed with the control you have using the hdc in the new d4 - it's very smooth

it works very similar, but there is dash indication of the speed you set,so you know where you are in the scale between min and max setting,if you know what i mean.

The HDC is a massive improvement from say a D2.
I didn't know you could keep going in different vehicles until one of the staff mentioned it.But she did say it depends how busy they were.
Didn't seem any of them were very busy.

Ahh yep ok, I read the manual on Topix, new RRS has a green marker at the selected HDC speed that displays on the speedo dial - one of the nice things about having a full LCD instrument cluster. D4 will display the speed when setting the speed via the cruise control buttons, once set the HDC speed is not displayed.

Yes as I was driving off the thought crossed my mind to take the single range sport for a spin to see the difference between the dual range and single range.

I guess it will come around again

Looks like fun. Is this somewhere open to the public, if yes, do you have directions on where the trails are.

It was at the mount cotton driver training centre operated by Queensland transport. I don't think it's open just for general public use, it's more training organisations etc. I did motorcycle training there years ago and it was run by team moto which is who I bought my bike from. I think the various areas need to be "hired" for half or full day. It also has a skid pan, 2 high speed tracks, an open bitumen pad for practicing emergency avoidance manoeuvres (braking, steering etc).
