Just found a VW Kombi Dormobile with an interesting sticker on the dash.
Dormobile Australia, Wiluna Street, Fyshwick, Canberra ACT.

Some more info here including a few other local conversions Trakka, Swagman etc. VW Campervan Conversion Types (http://forums.kombiclub.com/showthread.php?21797-VW-Campervan-Conversion-Types)

So were any Australian Land Rover Dormobiles made or are they all imports ?

Still looking out for one, the one in Tassie needs a lot of work (the kids would have left home by the time I finished it.....).

Hi Colin,
I spotted these Australian Dormobile badges a few months ago, I too wondered if they were converted here or just shipped over.

Of course if you want a ready to drive dormobile you could go for this one ;)

Jerryd,

The shipping makes it too expensive:D

I remember reading somewhere that there was licence production of Kombi Dormobiles in Australia. I've never seen anything to suggest that Land Rover Dormobiles were made here though. There are very few around and all the ones I know of were imported.

The guy selling this must have rocks in his head, no series 2 is worth $159,000.00

Just been browsing the Dormobile site in the UK.
If you start pricing up a modern conversion you can start to justify the $159,000 :D

Alex has sold this one, he really should get the ad removed :)

That BMW powered one has been for sale for some time now.

Just unearthed another in the uk , a very original diesel model. Info has been passed on to prospective buyer who is very excited. So excited he's arranged insurance on it and is hoping to drive it home on Saturday. Now that's what I call a result :)
The guy owns two and is reluctantly selling one to make way for another project.

This one he's keeping
