G'day all,

I'm attempting to restore a tank for my 80 and need some advice. I have researched this and other forums and I have learned a lot but need some more help.
Firstly, I pulled the outlet pipe out and the filter gauze and pipe are intact but crusty and the pipe itself is nearly blocked.
Is there some way of soaking the pipe complete in something to descale it all (perhaps caustic soda, carby cleaner?) or will I have to remove the gauze? If so, can it be done without destroying it?
any advice appreciated,
Dean

Yes; use caustic soda to clean everything that is steel; brass; iron but NOT aluminium.

Have a search on the S3 forum, for an article I wrote about my S3 tank repair - if you can't find it PM me and I can send you the original article,

Cheers Charlie
