OK here is the problem.
I have an Ipad 1 with only wifi on OS 5.1.1. I have an iphone 4s with ios 7.

I would like to use hema maps which require Ios 6 and 3G, so my Ipad is ruled out on 2 counts of ios5 and no GPS , but should be OK on Iphone 4s.

Is there an app anywhere that can run the Ipad screen from the iphone4s as I think Hema maps would be hard to read on an iphone screen?

SWMBO AKA Navi has a hard enough time without glasses.

I know that the answer is to buy a ipad 2 with 3g , but being a pensioner I don't have a lazy $500 sitting around.
So all you apple nuts out there please help. I tried google but all I mainly got was a game called slaves .

I did more googling and there is a similar question on Whirlpool under "mirror ipad from Iphone" but answers suggest not possible.

G'day Philip,

You can definitely tether your iPad to the iPhone to get internet access - whether your navigation software will work across that I am not 100% sure.

Assuming you have mobile data on your iPhone plan....

On your iPhone you should have an option for Personal Hotspot under settings.

- Turn this on and set a password.
- On your iPad, you should now hopefully be able to see a wireless network with the same name as your phone.
- Connect to it with the password you just set and you should now have internet on the iPad.

In the past, some Telco's did not turn on tethering by default....so if you don't have the option on your phone.. you may need to chat to the Telco..

Good luck with it...

Thanks mate , I know about personal hotspot, but what I am talking about is different. It is running the Ipad as a mirror of the Iphone.
In other words the Ipad acting as a second screen like you can do in windows.
The hema maps progeram needs Ios 6 minimum and a GPS to give on screen location. Even the only approved wireless GPS for Ios needs ios6.
