Hi all

The grasshopper ( series 3 body, 2.25 petrol engine and gearbox with 110 chassis and differentials) has been running for the last 1 1/2 years but the fuel consumption has been killing me so I bought a Toyota 3C-T engine and the Santana 4 speed gearbox used in SANDF land rovers the R6.

So my thoughts on how to join the 2.

The gearbox has the Toyota bell housing.

Fit a land rover clutch (will normal series 3 clutch fit Santana box?) with Toyota flywheel and pressure plate( is all Toyota pressure plates compatible?)

Change the engine pilot bearing because the Toyota shaft is 12mm and the land rover is 22mm

How much does the gearbox in put shaft stand out from the bell housing on either vehicle are they flush or not.

I will be fitting the Toyota clutch slave cylinder.

That's is as far as my thinking goes.

Regards
