I read that last week, even left a comment, was a good review. I would also be interested in Pat Callinans review of the Discovery, which I believe was the same car 4x4 Australia tested on Fraser a couple of issues ago, same colour as ours too, Loire blue and Almond interior, just thought I would add that..

She got the acceleration number wrong - she quotes the number for the 155kw engine.

As were the quoted KW figures on the RHS of the page versus her narrative.
Simple stuff when you are a world class editor like myself .... maybe not ... LOL!!! Just sloppy really. I thought her comments about height selection, etc (off-Road Cred), did nothing more than demonstrate how little she knew about the topic and car.
But in the end, she wrote an article form her perspective, which would probably resonate with the majority of the market.

It's also a "girly thing" - noodle-armed sissy girls can't get those heavy doors moving. Try it offroad when you're parked with at least one wheel in the air and you fall out from gravity rather than stepping out! There is a lot of weight in these doors.:D

I don't know why LR wants their opinion - You could hardly call that a review. These automotive journalists are a whingey, pain in the arse mob who think they are the font of all wisdom.
They could do with a trip up Mount Walker or something similar to open their eyes to the true capabilities of the vehicle and what makes it truly unique - the fact that it can do that and yet provide supreme comfort and handling on the open road for effortless cruising.

I couldn't believe how negative that review was right from the start. And how is buying 4 V8 Holden utes one after another relevant?

Forget the fact I am a LR diehard for a moment, but reading that latest test is nothing more than an insult to ones grey matter.
I have a lot to do with motor journalists both two and four wheeled because of our business and where we are located and nearly every four wheel journo I have ever met and some two wheel ones as well are the biggest self serving ******* you are ever likely to meet in your lives.
To be frank I reckon rear view mirrors were invented for these cretins to admire themselves. Most of these people believe they are automotive gods and their expert opinions (as that last Carsales moron said) should be taken as gospel.
The funny thing is most get paid stuff all and that is why you mainly get nongs doing the job, anyone who has some real ability goes off and works in some other field, so the same dopey clowns who are prepared to work for peanuts stay put for years and their ego's just keep getting bigger and bigger and their opinions and scribblings more outrageous and insulting to the average person.

He should be armed with facts, not heresay, and have both hands on his keyboard.

That may well explain the problem, the onset of blindness due to not having both hands on the keyboard has prevented him from seeing the drivel he has written.

What a tosser, having said that, Joshua Dowling is not really known for his objectiveness. To me he came across as trying to be lighthearted & critical with humour chucked in, a bit like the way Clarkson does it, only Joshua Dowling is a major fail.
It is then, ironic, that he seemingly has female friends who are infinitely more knowledgable about cars than he, a motoring journalist...no sorry a motoring writer is.
