I wouldn't mind having some light in the cabin.
Any neat solutions out there?

The options are endless.
I've seen interior lights from more upmarket vehicles, sidelights, torches etc.

Here are the RV lights from Narva RV & Interior Lighting - Products - Narva (http://www.narva.com.au/products/browse/rv-interior-lighting)
Probably lots on ePay as well.

I bought el-cheapo LED lights (theres a squillion designs and sizes at Super cheap, Repco, AutoBarn and Ebay &c) they are good an bright, they will fit into existing LR fittings, you can leave them on for hours without flattening the battery. One set that I bought for 'reversing' and 'rear camping illumination' cost $27 for the four of them.

I'll second that. I used the sticky back LED light stuff, just cut to the length you want, solder wires on and stick it on. You can use as many or as few as you like, or place them around the car for better lighting without shadows. They are quiet discrete too, if your into a 'period' look.

I was planning on installing half a dozen led autolamps 148BW12 along the support ribs on the roof of my Perentie. Picked them for a more classic look and not crazy bright.

Thanks for the excellent suggestions.
They led me to the ones in the photo. Ebay item no. 121319770702

They are LEDs in a metal housing, should look pukka in the Series 2. :)
