I thought they were a tropical jelly fish, but the Article says they are found as far north as Wales, & even off Melbourne. Bob

Yeah it can depend on currents, ocean temps etc. Unusual to be found in cold water but on occasion they can. Not even usually found off Coral Bay area, but a couple were killed by the sting and then drowning off this area a couple of years ago.
The issue being for WA is a warm current can stretch all the way to Albany and even further at certain times and bring these and other marine life down south not normally seen.
I know they have been found as far south as Albany and Portuguese Man Of Wars have been also found in this area, though rare.
