Absolute sick , sad , disgust is how I felt.

Does anyone know what ArchBishop Pell's income is?

I can't believe how anyone who is held in such an "exalted" and responsible position can lie, lie and lie more about the children who have ultimately been in his "due care" for so many years.

What is the difference between those priests and outright paedophiles?

Why are they able to be protected by ArchBishop Pell and his legal team?

Nothing if anything the priests are worse because they are in such a position of trust... well by those who are religious anyway.

They are the scum of the earth and hiding behind the church should be condemned by those who hold office in that sanctum, not supported like they are.

They have gotten away with it for far to long, and from stories like that one last night it seems the church is not trying to hard to remove it.

They are supported by his legal team because of shear greed on the church's behalf nothing else.

I take my hat off to your sister Pat, and hope she continues to expose this type of thing as hard as it is...we need more people of her ilk.

Cheers Ean

She didn't talk about it once the whole time we were out there,my other sisters told me she was put under alot of pressure by certain people to drop it,one of my nieces was molested as a child,I found out later,it hurt my father,we are a big family,11 children,26 grand children,he is very quiet about it,I know it haunts him. Good on her Pat! She is doing a great job, glad those thugs don't scare her

That Pell is a scoundrel, so full of himself and the Catholic Church.

Always remember, when it comes to Churches, and especially the Catholic Church: It's all about the money....

Pat, from what I've read she was put under a lot of pressure (and possibly threats ?) to drop her investigations, she has my immense admiration for persevering and pursuing justice for those violated and abused and bringing the bastards who did it (and those who hide them) to account.

BTW, she won a Gold Walkley, IIRC it's the highest journalism award in Australia.

What ****es me off is that amongst themselves, they think that if some other priest hears their confession and tells them to say a few Hail Marys, then God has forgiven them and they are still entitled to eternal salvation

Didn't Martin Luther and other reformationists point out the flaw in this system? And worshipping idols such as statues of Mary?

The above is free speech, you can't burn me at the stake.

Gold Walkley, thanks Rick,I new it was something like that.Funny thing about Joe is she's very strong minded,my daughter Keeley is the same, the more you push the more they fight back,it was the pressure ''they'' put her under that caused her to dig her heals in and get into them,my other sisters closed in around her and gave her more strength,as soon as she was put under pressure was the moment ''they'' signed their downfall.I'm very proud of my whole family. Scoundrel is no where near the language I would use to describe this creature. He knew and did nothing until a lot pressure was applied. I've seen too many stories of people telling him about abusing priests and he fobbed them off. He didn't care for his flock just his position.

It wasn't just about protecting the church there was more to it.

People should post their views about Pell in the Pope Francis FB page. I have done it in English and Spanish after having my caffeine intake. :D

This is a very personal issue to me. I am one of the Melbourne victims that came forward. Again there are so many stories. Not told. It is good it has come out but in the past you could as a victim some what keep it hidden. I know everyone is different.People have opened a story that needs to be told
But in the past it was my secret and my experience and it was easy to forget it but now I can't do that. Please this is no criticism of what people have done. It was needed but it has hit certain people differently. It had to happen but it is hard on the silent victim's.
