Have just upgraded from a D3 to D4 and am going through the upgrade with a long range tank and wheel carrier. I have a factory reversing camera and wanted to know if anyone has fitted a wheel carrier and does the camera still function as normal.

I know D3/D4 wheel carriers, including the ones I make, affect the reversing sensors.
I've never had anyone report issues with the reversing camera. I guess it depends on the position of the tyre and the angle of the camera image.
I'm talking about a single carrier like this D3/4 (http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb102/rijidij/Wheel%20Carriers/D3%20D4%20wheel%20carrier%20prototype/D3_4-Wheel-Carrier-1_zps0daa764d.jpg) Obviously you would have issues with a dual carrier.

I have moved this to the D3/D4/RRS section as you may get more responses here.

I have a Kaymar rear bar with the spare mounted on the RHS. This does not block the camera as it is mounted above the rego plate. If I install another spare on the LHS it will block the camera and the rego plate and require another plate holder mounted on the spare.

I have the new Dolium fitted to the rear bar(RHS) and the reversing camera is unaffected. Vision is a bit restricted by rear tyre but not worth worrying about. Biggest issue is with the rear parking sensors - you can't extend the range to cover the RWC.

Slightly "off topic" but I found with my Dolium RWC when the reversing beeps get to a solid tone my spare tyre is about two inches from anything vertically behind it... works for me :D

You get a bit more warning than I do. :D
If I'm backing up to a solid vertical wall, the "beep" goes solid just as the spare tyre touches the wall.

Vision is restricted just like a D2;););););)
I will go LR tank and rear mounted spare when ready to travel.

Thanks. I had the Dolium on my D3, although no camera. Will work on another Dolium noting the comments above.
Cheers,
