Me 1, scammers 0. Had a phone call saying my computer is downloading internet junk that is infected with problems that will affect my computer. I told the idiot that I was a senior citizen who does not have an internet connection. He asked me then how is it downloading junk. I said that was his problem and go scam someone else.:D:D:D:D

They do not like it if you tell them you have a MAC!

One the other day knew my name and address - I did not confirm it with them.

My other trick is to say I need to restart the PC, it is in the other room - I then put the phone down for 5 or 10 minutes come back and say "you are right, I must have a problem I have a blue screen up now, it is taking awhile to reboot, I will go check it" Put the phone down for another 5 or 10 minutes and come back and hang up on them. Sometimes they will call back and I will do the same again.

I had one today from "Telstra IT department". Told me Telstra was going to disconnect my internet and phone. Knew my name, but actually asked for my wife (dead fifteen years ago) first.

When I told her that I don't have internet from Telstra, she told me all Australian internet is via Telstra.

When I said she must be running a scam she got quite abusive and hung up on me.

I get those phone calls too. I just say "I don't care."
Then they get irate and say I'll be without internet to which I reply "I don't care."
After each time they say something, I say "I don't care."
Eventually they get the message and hang up.

After having no home phone for over a month I'm missing them.

I use them to vent my frustrations by making their lives hell.
Either I just keep upping the anti with abuse or I turn it into a super dirt phone call:twisted:.
I never hang up first.
Sometimes I do string them along but see it as wast as much of their time as I can.

Just had a call from the "Telstra Service Department" who requested that I go to my computer.

I told them that it already sounded like a scam.

There was a pause, then "Oh really? You are a crap, you know that?? You are a stupid, you know that??" Then hung up.

I guess Telstra service standards are slipping these days...
