Welcome back mate, i trust you had a nice break. Saw some of redbacks photos, looked good.
Are we still up for those rock sliders on the last weekend of Jan Disco95. The weekend is clear for me if you are still good to come. We can make it Aces BBQ II, anyone who would like to come would be welcome, we could get the sliders on early saturday arvo, go for a light trip and then another on sunday before veryone heads off. Only difference this time, no f$#@king puddles. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif matt

I'm going to start on the sliders tis week, the last weekend in the month looks good. Just one thing, I realised that my disco is a two door and yours is a three door.
You'll have to measure your sill so I can do a comparison to mine and work from there. I'll PM you tommorrow night to tell you exactly where to measure.

Even better, i forgot you can get kill rust in pressure packs. Go the kill rust, its dearer to buy but you dont need primer like with the cheaper ones, and this saves you time. I am happy to pay for the better paint. Do it once do it porperly. Matt

Yeah they are, the only bit that should get scraped is along the lengh. Under the bottom of the slider which is about 5 or 6mm wide, depending on how thick the steel is that i use.

I'll get round to fixing them soon, one thing at a time. Got my new shocks today so fitted them this evening. The old ones might as wel have not been there at all for all the good they did. I could push them in extremely easily.
What shocks did you get disco?
I hope you can make it up for the weekend hiline, it would be good to put a face to the name. Good luck with the 130. Matt[/b][/quote]
G'day ace, I got bilstiens, yes you read that right, bilstiens. HSVrangie had them on the forum for $250 WOOHOO :!: bargain I say :!: Only problem, one rear was missing a top rubber, had to manufacture one myself, and had trouble removing the front top mounts. Actually had to grind half the nut off the passenger side one to get it off the tower :!: 8O
Did 600 kays this weekend and I'm rapt, no more squeeks from the back, and the annoying knocking when going over bumps is gone, she doesn't feel so skittish on corners.
For the first time the dogs didn't get car sick, nor did the missus style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

I think i will go with the Bilsteins, i am going to get the disco 2" lift springs from British 4wd, and Bilsteins to go with them.
Diffs are easy, have done 2 now, although they were in an escort. Pretty much the same principle. Matt

Yeah, mechanics are mechanics, they're all basically the same.
I'm pretty happy with my setup now, all I need is a pair of coil spring spacers for the back to pick it up 20mm. It seems to have settled nice and level now. I don't think I could've justified $800 for the shocks to SWMBO so I'm glad I got em cheap.

$250 is a bloody good price. I can justify it to Stacey. I dont smoke, or drink that much, i never go to the pub and i dont spend money on pointless crap that i dont need. She doesnt mind me spending money on the Disco, as long as all bills etc are paid and we have food in our stomachs and clothes on our back. Matt

Mate when you are banished to the Disco in the driveway after a night on the ****, that does not count as having a second house. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif
