For those who might be contemplating the Plenty, Binns etc out of Alice: I discovered today that Box Crater is closed by the current pastoralist - might have been for a long time. Anyway, a sign at the Plenty turn would be nice- save 100 or so k of mindless diesel. Still very dry up there - not much action in the bush.
Anyway, off to Ruby gorge over the weekend - hopefully more successful...

Under NT (and WA) legislation a Pastoralist has no right to close public right of way access, He is only leasing the rights to use the property to run cattle (and at far below market rates.) It is Still Crown Land and he has no right to deny entry for lawful purposes such as transit , tourism etc.

I have transited quite a few pastoral and Mining leases with signs to such effect, and I have every right to do so.

Because, there are complex systems involved in calibrating the SEMLOD™ at the moment. They'll interfere with the computer systems on board, which will mean you will all start complaining and walking around not knowing what to do and you'll just get in the way and make a mess.
