Hardly forgotten. He is still a legend of Australian history. Kidman Cattle Co & S. Kidman & Co. are still operating, still owned by the family, and if not the biggest land and stock holders in Oz then are in the top tier.

I'll be out on a couple of Kidman properties next week and dining on some delicious cuts of beef.
I'll try to get a monogrammed shirt.
Kidman properties are always so well maintained and facilities are excellent.

An Uncle of mine used to work for Kidman, and one of his best mates was RMW.
He used to tell us some good stories about his time up/through there.
Unfortuneatly he would'nt sit down long enough with mum for her to document the exploits.
Thanks for the heads up Andy. I'll try and chase that down.

Ion Idress wrote a good book around the 50's (?) titled
"The Cattle King". A good read too.
