After a recent service the dealer pointed out that the front lower control arm bushes were shot (Discovery 4, 3.0 TDV6 HSE MY10 - 76K )
Said don’t worry covered by the extended warranty, book in for replacement when parts arrive
A few days later, dealer rang to say that Allianz had disallowed the claim, because bushes are excluded on the policy under the section “what is not covered” item 13 I think. This is a change to the policy, that the dealer was not aware of.

I dragged out my policy and it does not mention bushes, so I rang them directly
As it turned out, I had taken out the policy on 24th September 2013, the day before they changed it and the wash-up was that they subsequently honored the claim
Clearly there must be an issue with the bushes on this model and Allianz/Landrover, have taken evasive action

Good to see they honoured the written contract. It is arguably a wear and tear item that does commonly need replacing about your km though so not really surprised that they have started excluding it.

I would agree with Andrew. They probably are a wear item but at Least they honoured the policy.

Hi Andrew, and they will usually take the ' replace the arm including balljoint ' route, and that gives you new everything.
