RADIO HELP

the dealer has put the wrong radio code in.....
97 range rover hse

anyone have any ideas on how to unlock it, I do have the correct code


Have tried to disconnect the battery overnight hoping it would reset
with no luck

I had this problem in my VP commodore hiline. I typed the wrong code in 3 times and it locked its self. From memory (i cant really remember what i did, it did lock up though) i just typed in the right code the next day after turning the car on and off, a few times, whilst driving it around and i typed it in and it worked. Not sure about the LR radios though. Matt

I assume the dealer hasnt been much help, since they caused the problem in the first place, does it say anything in the users manual. Is this the newie hiline? How is everything other than the radio? Matt

How did the dealer put in the wrong code, was the battery disconnected or something to make it go into security mode. Matt

had to put a new battery in
the radio code card they have has 2 codes on it

but different rego's for each code
so they keep putting the wrong 1 in

in the hand book it say's wait 1hr and try again
but it wont come back to code in mode

so i'm thinking it has shutdown completely
need a LR dealer to un code it :twisted: :twisted:

If the dealer stuffed it its their problem, not yours, just delete the wrong code as they dont appear smart enough to work out one isnt the right one. Matt

Press the Band switch and try the correct code.

It will only require a long wait - a bloody long wait if they attempted too many times. The waiting period doubles each time the wrong code is entered. 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, 16 hours, ad nauseum. And that means the radio has to be switched on for that long.

It makes it hard when you dont have security in the way of other realestate because you have poored all youre hard earned cash into a business. We hope the bank will say yes when we propose the our ideas next month when we get everything together. We have hope because we want to buy the building, this changes things because if things go arse up they have something to sell. Stacey is keen to start a restraunt so we are looking for a building which can house the two businesses to save money buying two buildings. Matt
