All day I tried to open AULRO with IE, which is what I use, but kept getting an error notice.
So I installed google chrome a while ago and it works as you can now see.
Every other web site that I open works with IE.
Any deas ?

I have both IE and Google Chrome and Chrome is much better. There are functions on AULRO which don't work in IE, but they work in Chrome. Plus Chrome is very stable, whereas IE keeps freezing and having to recover the webpage.
I recommend everyone use Chrome rather than IE. Our work systems are having Chrome installed because it is a better program.

Only been on chrome for an hour or so and I have noticed that it does not have an obvious "favorites " section to store other web addresses.
Darn.
Nor does it have a Tool section ?
I like to delete history as I move from place to place.

It has those things.

Do you want me to tell you where they are or do you want the satisfaction of finding them yourself? :D

I haven't had IE installed on any of my machines for years.
Interestingly, on the machine at work, I cannot log on to AULRO in IE.

Top right hand corner of Chrome has a big star to click on to bookmark.

Ok thanks.
IE is working okay now.
I will poke about with Chrome without going near my favourite web sites.
Might come in handy soon because more and more sites are not going to recognise this XP thingy.

Version 11 is current version. I think last version supported for winXP was version 8.

And I believe that IE11 is only supported in Win7 or 8.

I have no idea what IE it is.
Came with the HP pc which I purchased about three or four year ago.
installed all the MS updates along the way but there is not going to be any more.
Other thingy's like Chrome might keep the pc working longer ?

Been thinking that when it is crapped I might not replace it.
I might just spend the time reading and messing about and become a cash customer.

You could always use 'Help' > 'About'

Okay, I checked that and its IE8.
As I said in my first post, on that day I could not access Aulro so I downloaded Chrome and logged into the Forum.
Great.
Since then no problems with IE ?
Also, using only Microsoft IE in all my computers following my first Commordore 64, I have never had a problem.

I think the problems in the future will arise from XP no longer being supported.
In this format Chrome might keep me rolling along a bit longer, but dunno.

Will my pc finally crash using XP ?
I cant remember what happened back in the days following Windows 98 and later thingy's.
Since the C64 I have had four new pc's but I cant remember why I moved on.

Might need to increase the raw eggs, nuts and juiced veggy intake.
Oh and more sunlight and exercise.
Damn computers are habit forming and bad for your health.

I'll send you a jar of my famous green tomatoe pickles. If you need some zing, I'll add some of my home made chili sauce. At least you'll know you're alive, let me tell you. Bob
