I brought a second hand Left external mirror for my car (Cost $25) from a wrecking yard and when I went to fit it I found it was of no use to me It was off a ute not a sedan When I took it back they did not have one for a sedan and after a near argument with the smart idiot behind the counter he wanted to charge me a $15 restocking fee.
I will never go back to that yard again I have never heard of a re stocking fee I am very temped to go public about it

Yeah, I can understand your anger. I would feel the same way. Naming and shaming is frowned upon on this Forum, unfortunately. Have you thought about going to Consumer Affairs????:)

Yes I had thought about that avenue I can not express the anger over it I had been a long term customer over the years and had been responsible for a lot of their other customers over that I had recommended them to. I am not a vindicated bastard but I have my ways and means, Those Who I lead there in the past will be lead to other pastures The yards name is abbreviated **********. I will work it against them.

Isn't there a website somewhere in Australia for naming and shaming? I thought someone noted it after the camper trailer debacle

Should you name and shame on the forum?
No.

Surely they sold you the wrong part.
You're entitled to a refund I would think.
Or the correct part, which they can't supply.
So a refund it is then.

Did they have to order it in for you or did they have it in stock?
Doesn't a restocking fee normally cover the costs they incurred in getting the part specially for you?
This is not the place to name and shame.

No, it was in stock sitting on a shelf and to answer a couple of other question There was only one person duty It was late Saturday when this took place I was not going to name and shame on the forum that never crossed my mind

Don't know if you have an equivalent of our 'department of fair trading' in Qld,
but here in NSW, if a product is not fit for the job it was bought for, you're entitled to a full refund, and no restocking fee.
Don.

Yet you left enough clues in post 4 for anyone to find out who you meant, so your intent was obvious IMO.

You said you were not going to N&S, yet you have effectively done just that:mad:

HodgoDetails deleted. As it appears the name is quite easily worked out, you have effectively named the business.

No fights, just some guidelines to keep the place running.
Ps, My Dad was only a little bloke, so your Dad may well have been bigger :p

Pah! Your dad isn't as small as my dad. At christmas time he used to put on a santa suit, stand out the front of the house and wished everyone a happy christmas.
That all ended abrubtly in 1978 when he was kidnapped and taken to Cornwall by some school kids that misstook him for a Gnome.
Haven't seen him since. But for some strange reason, he keeps sending us postcards every year...
