This is more a case of arse covering. The drug was legal the season before and they where told it was still legal when they where given it by dank and their trainers.
Johns was a party drug and I've yet to see anyone on it concentrate for 15 min let alone 90. It could have explained his variable form.
The place where there could be trouble is the player who told the truth and lost 2 seasons not 2 games.

Calling them drug cheats is a very strong statement, and even putting them in the same sentence as Lance Armstrong is just plain stupid.Armstrong knew what he was putting in his body to cheat his way to victory, these boys were given these peptides by the high performance unit of the club.
The players mistake comes from trusting the club's doctors, they were told these drugs were ok and legal,so when the medical staff tell players these drugs are fine to use why would a player think any differently? Why would a player question the advice of a medical doctor?
These players were let down by the club and that asshole Steven Dank, they did not go out of their way to cheat, the simple fact is they did not know what they were given by the medical staff.

The whole incident shows what a paper tiger organisation ASADA actually is. If they have any authority or legitimacy why has it taken 18 months for players to receive a measly 'show cause' notice? I know if I turned a positive drug test at work i'd have my marching orders within hours - 18 months later and these footballers still don't have a resolution? Ridiculous.
And I can't see why this charge is being levelled at the players. Their health, nutrition, work out and recovery programs are all hyper-vigilantly managed by sports scientists with degrees and PhD's in their specialist fields. The expectation should be that coaches, specialists and professionals have a duty of care onus that extends over the footballers they're managing. If players are being supplied illegal health supplements by health science professionals, then that discretion should fall under their duty of care.

Just one thing. Would anyone here allow some one to inject them with a substance, or take tablets without knowing what they are? The players have a responsibility to question these actions, and management a responsibility to safeguard players health. A failure on both counts. Bob

It's a shame this has happened the NRL does not need this attention. We should be talking about the finals and the turn around of the mighty COWBOYS!!!.
But at the end of the day whatever dank was giving the sharks and the bombers didn't seem to be any good, both teams had crap seasons.

I hope so they have had a bloody good roster for a lot of years now and it's time to win the big trophy.Without sounding like a whinger the refs have got to give them a better run at finals time.
