Nice! What did you do? Were all the axles stock or maxi / aftermarket?

My day of carnage (controlled) - one GQ patrol without a roof! Great fun to chop as it wasnt my car.

Well, don't go figure skating in your 4WD.

axel = a jump in figure skating from the outer forward edge of one skate with 1-1/2 turns taken in the air and a return to the outer backward edge of the other skate (named after Norwegian figure skater Axel Paulsen)

Pilar = a place in Paraguay

But despite this, sorry to hear about the damage your vehicle sustained,

All the best

It's never a nice thing when someone loses his or her life. I'd be willing to bet that it was due to careless and reckless driving though.

No,looked like it was a hardtop,it was torn off. They were playing in the sand dunes, must have gone over a drop off and rolled it front over rear,or should that be arse over tit????

Bugger!!!

I enjoyed my trip around Lancelin, even if it was a Tojo on the Sand Dunes.

I used to live down the road from Lancelin(Moore River)
Had some great times up there but it was so dangerous during long weekends,TOO MANY COWBOYS in 4X4's,bikes,quads and buggies. Its amazing that there arent more deaths up there.
Shame realy as as you know its a great place to go out and enjoy your 4X4/fishing/camping.

I too used to frequent the area regularly, fishing trips to wedge and beyond. It's a shame as idiots doing the wrong thing will only cause the authorities to shut the place up.

Ok, well there is not much to tell, pretty easy trip and I am at a loss to explain why I broke anything. Didn't bounce the truck once. First axel broke coming out of a mudhole, the next 2 broke while attached to a winch on soft shale.

I think I might put GQ's in it.

Here are some pics of the day, haven't pulled the diffs appart yet so will take pics when I have.

Maggot,

How are the new NSW government rules on P-platers not owning V8s going to affect you? Also how with the new weight rules apply?

Nice looking truck you've got there.

Stupid, ain't it? The Ford Falcon 6-cylinder and Toyota LC 6-cylinder engines are bigger.

A Commodore V6 is bigger than the original Rover V8.

Good to see the body damage isn't too bad. How do GQ axles fit into the rangie? Do you need to change the whole diff? and, will it work for the disco?

DAS from Overkill Engineering is just putting Nissan diffs under his 4 door RR.

If it can be done to a RR then it can be done to a Disco.

Hi Ron,

I am 31yrs old have been driving since I was 16 due to an unforseen incident with a police radar(yes I was speeding), I lost my licence.

I didn't renew it in time to get it back after the dequalification period as I didn't need a licence care of a back injury. The government chops and changes it's mind on P-platers more times then a whore removes her knickers in a bordello. First of all I had to sit the test for a new licence, then after moving from S.A. to N.S.W. I was told that I would have to hold the Red P-plate for 12mths then move on to Green P's(no not that kind of P style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif )

S.A. regs say I only need hold P-plates for 12mths, if the Government wants to change the rules on me owning and driving a Range Rover with a v8 in it then I guess for an intense purposes I will live in S.A. (ssshhh on paper anyway  )

I cant see how they will be able to police such changes anyway except for not allowing us to register them. P-plates will just start getting older people to register them in their name(MUMMY!!!! 8O style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif )

I doubt you will have a problem Jason, you had the vehicle before the regs came in and you are not really a p-plate driver. Matt

I think the Vic regs are the best, the ban is on High Powered cars, power to weight etc, not just a blanket "V8" rule.

Also you can drive at the posted speed limit from day one I believe, not this mobile road block of 90kph in a 110kph zone. Thats far more dangerous for other drivers, and how do you learn to control a car at speed if your not allowed to do that speed?

Ace

I think power to weight ratio will be the only real fair way of enforcing it. I mean, some of these for cylinder turbos will have a better power to weight ratio than a rangie. It will need some fine tuning before they intorduce it. matt
