I'm having some trouble and can't for the life of me figure out why; my alternator belts keep snapping. All of the pulleys move freely and none of them are loose. They all appear to be lined up, only thing I can think is i might be buying the wrong size belt, I have been using 11a1030, does that seem right?
Hoping someone has seen this issue and can share some insight for me

The correct belt is ETC7939 which is 1025mm
5mm shouldn't make too much of a difference.

the 11A appears to be correct aswell.
So it's probably not a belt problem.

Is it actually snapping or just falling off ????

You dont happen to have rats? My old range rover snapped a few belts until one day half a rat appeared underneath.

Nope no rats happens when I'm driving, I put a new belt on the other day drove about 80km~ and it snapped.

Diagnose where the damage came from
One side?
Base of belt?
Delamination?
Inspect pulleys, look at wear marks
Stone gouge somewhere maybe?
How deep is the belt being pulled?
I got rid of that mag morelli POS early on and ran a magna Bosch unit
10a more and Japanese electrical reliability

It is probably the alternator "stalling" on occasion. Change the alternator. I've a friend that went through this same experience.

Sorry for the late reply, but it turned out the problem was the alternator; must have been seizing up.
Replaced it and all is going well!
