Saw that last night, what a bloody fool, putting his family in danger like that, and for what, probably to impress and inflate his ego.

Or it could have been just to get home. Still a fool though - let the dog go hungry for the night!

What a bunch of dills. What if weather conditions had been too bad to be able to use the chopper?
And the cost of the rescue? Knowing what an R44 Robinson cost to run I reckon that rescue chopper would be upwards of 2K an hour.
Modern technology is over riding Darwin's theory.

EMQ Helicopter Rescue : Aircraft Specifications (http://www.emergency.qld.gov.au/aviation/aircraft/)
The Bell: Approx$3500/ hour. The Augusta: $5000+
Includes maintanance/ labour etc etc. but that is the true cost of the service.
After all the deaths we have had: if the water is moving and you aren't absolutely certain of the conditions, just bloody dont!

No way would i put my two little girls life at risk with such stupid actions.Maybe its not fair to paint all Land bruiser owners with the same brush, but up here we have two crossings that flood and nine times at of ten fools in cruisers are putting the lives of rescue teams at risk to pull these ******* out of fast moving water.
Toyota badge does not mean amphibious.

Sorry, but that entire thing is unforgivable on the part of the driver. The vehicle isn't even fitted with a snorkel.
Maybe there's merit in having everyone who buys a 4wd having to do some sort of a course so they actually KNOW what they can/can't or shouldn't do?
Common sense doesn't seem to work.

The trouble with the world is that COMMONSENSE is a very RARE product, seems only Land Rover owners have cornered the market.
That creek that was flooded only needs a couple of cows to have a **** upstream to flood, I hope this dill gets a bill and a fine.
BTW that road is Wamban (Womban) rd, which becomes Lt. Sugarloaf FT, then Bendethra FT into Bendethra, the only way into Bendethra camping area with a Camper trailer, Regards Frank.

Sorry to spoil the argument about Toyota drivers compared to the land Rover ones :D
It is not the car or for that any vehicle brand when the person in charge of it does not have a clue of what he/she is doing.
This was in Gympie an area known for the cultivation of "medicinal grasses" so perhaps .......................................

Don't think having a snorkel did much good for that pair of retards. Is that the new 5.9m Quintrex discovery?

Maybe the water was not that far up when it stopped! Or it stopped when they drove into the deep hole.
