Just test drove a 2001 4.6 rangie that drove beautifully but had 2 issues that concerned me.
the abs light stayed on while driving and a flashing message on dash-abs fault?

also the speedo didnt work

are they easy fixes?

Could be in need off new abs sensors, which is an easy fix. The speedo not working will be a related issue.

I had the same problem on my '96. Speedo not working and ABS fault. It would also pop up and EAS error after having travelled a certain distance. My problem was the front left one. I gave it a few careful taps with a hammer, and the problem went away.

Sometimes you can just take them out and give them clean and they work again. Chances are it'll be one of the front ones.

Tommo457, congratulations on your p38 purchase. What are your planned uses for the car? If you are interested there is the W4 Challenge coming up on 20-21 September to test out the off road capabilities up at Toodyay. It's not a race just a series of obstacles (natural and man made) the get through.
