Don't you just LOVE sand!!

I just got back from a week playing on the beach at Robe.

What a hoot.... so many beaches.... all different :!:


I can't believe how varied sand can be.....some really coarse - some fine. Some really loose - some packed hard. And different from day to day :!: Boxing day on one beach.... bogged inside the first minute :oops: 5 days later same spot coulded get bogged no matter how hard we tried!


On Longbeach ( Travelling to Cape Jaffa for a Cray)... Got overtaken by a BMW :oops: .... no not an X5......a318i :oops: :!: :oops: :oops:


But the one observation that made me smile most..... the one 4x4 that regularly sank in the sand while the Landies cruised by...... NISSAN PATROL style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Even my Disco 2 with Traction control and no CDL - that everyone tells you is SOOOOO bad in sand.... straight past them as they dig... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

.. oh.. I did stop to wave and smile... :twisted:

Sounds fun,you guys dont know how lucky you are,here in the UK,we arnt allowed to drive on beaches, and if Tony B gets his own load of cronies get there own way, our laning will be banned too...

He actually came around the corner behind him to be faced with the on coming Disco... he had to head down the beach which was pretty steep .... but it was so soft!... I sank in about a foot in bare feet!!..... (no fat jokes please :oops: )2.5Ton or Rangie did not float.

anyway.. only firmer stuff was back toward the edge of the dune... so dig - push ... and deflate... ( had to go down to 10psi to get out!)

**** Sand is fun......boy I like digging 8O 8O

Funny thing is... 5 days later you could do doughnuts on this beach without bogging!... or so I am told :oops: :oops:
