Well this makes a nice change, for the last two weeks, its been earthquakes, 5.6 - 5.9, now we have an erupting volcano.
What tyres are best on lava flows :o
(170 km away, so all good so far, but dawns and sunsets should be good)

it might pay to call your local tire outlets to see what makes come with a pyroclastic flow rating:D

I don't know which tyres are best for lava but, whatever you do fit I would suggest that you get them inflated with nitrogen (summat to do with being able to cope with the heat better).
Or, since good old plain air is 80% nitrogen, just inflate your tyres as normal but let 20% of the air out afterwards. The 80% left in the tyre should theoretically be just pure nitrogen. I think that's how science works. :)

Wow Road Stone that first image is amazing. Is that taken from the Kokopo plantation resort? I spend 2 nights there a while ago, wondered about those volcanos!
Here's some footage of same eruption that's been going around: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BUREX8aFbMs

Looks like the front of the Ralum Club to me, on Queen Emma's old plantation.
Thanks for the video, the shock wave was impressive.

Wow - that's a place I would rather not be anywhere near!
The shock wave was very interesting, especially how it created clouds in the top of the frame
